Agricultural Engineer (2014), MSc in Agronomy (2017), and PhD in Agronomy with emphasis on Plant Breeding and Experimental Statistics (2020) from the Federal University of Santa Maria. Currently, I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Crop Science, Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), where I lead the Flax Breeding Program within NEPEM/UFSC. My research focuses on Experimental Statistics, Biometry, and High-throughput Phenotyping applied to Plant Breeding. I also serve as Associate Editor of Ciência Rural and the Brazilian Journal of Biometrics.
I am the developer and maintainer of the R packages metan, dedicated to the analysis, visualization, and reporting of multi-environment trials; pliman, designed for plant image analysis, disease quantification, and object measurement; and plimanshiny, a Shiny application that extends pliman with a user-friendly graphical interface for high-throughput phenotyping. In 2024, Elsevier ranked me among the 12 most influential researchers at UFSC in the year of 2023.
